Event Description

505 BIM User’s Group March 2018 Monthly Meeting

Thursday March 8 at 11:30 at CNM's Advanced Technology Center room 108.

(Please park on south side of building off of Jefferson.  Enter West building near lobby, room 108 at end of hall.)

This month’s feature presentation is:

Building Codes in Revit

Imaginit's Joe Eichenseer will be back to present and explorer the automation of Building Codes in Revit.

Some key points will be:

  • Recognize how streamlined plan review provides value to architects, building owners, and jurisdictions
  • Understand how to use Revit to document and visualize building code information
  • Increase your knowledge of decisions at schematic design that are concerned with compliance with building code

Automated processes integrated into Building Information Modeling (BIM) can ease the pain of achieving compliance with building codes. It also can have a big impact on an architect's bottom line, an enormous impact on your client's bottom line through expediting the permit and commissioning processes, and it can even impact city revenue by accelerating property and sales tax receipts. In this presentation, you will see a process designed for using Revit software for automated plan review. After adding building code information to the BIM model, it assesses whether the building complies with particular sections of the International Building Code. Results are displayed as annotations, schedules and visualizations of the BIM model, enabling quick alteration to achieve compliance. Automated plan review can disrupt and change the building industry by offering benefits to all stakeholders.

Presented by Joe Eichenseer - Director | Building Lifecycle Solutions, North America

Joe leads a team of IMAGINiT's dedicated services professionals who ensure that the people, technology and processes exist to provide the best possible solution for clients every time. Joe and his team provide leadership to building design firms, facility managers, and building owners through the process of selecting, implementing, and optimizing software solutions. They develop new workflow processes that dramatically improve productivity and efficiency. Specializing in the customization, optimization, and integration of Autodesk building design products and the ARCHIBUS integrated workplace management system, Joe helps AECO firms navigate the road to Building Information Modeling (BIM) using a logical progression from 2D to full BIM. His years of experience in the industry make him an able leader in the management of cultural changes necessary for firms to be successful.

Hope to see you all there and remember to RSVP!

As always Lunch will be provided!
