Laser Scanning Workflows
We will take a dive into the world of laser scanning and review how point clouds can be utilized. Get an understanding of the different laser scanning technology available today, in addition to practical uses for the technology being utilized in the industry. Using a combination of Recap Pro and Revit, I'll show the best practices to register scans, review accuracy of registration and inserting into Revit for As-Built models and/ or phase-based verification.

Preston has an extensive background in building information modeling (BIM) workflows specific to construction. He understands how technology applications impact business issues at all levels within an organization.
Preston has a long career and experience in Autodesk solutions such as Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Fabrication solutions and a strong background with 3D scanning and Robotic Total Station solutions such as Sokkia Robotic Layout.
He has worked for and with architectural companies and understands not only the day to day requirements of the job, but also the success of efficiently implementing advance design technology. He has held positions as director of support services, product integration, IT, CAD manager, and design engineer.
Over 10 years experience in MEP design and project management with strong background in layout standards, BIM workflows, and customer support. Preston has been with ATG since 2016.
Have worked directly with many large mechanical and general contracting firms to assist in implementing BIM to streamline project workflows from the office to the field.
Consult with customers to discover current process to help develop a strategic plan for executing the right hardware and software to maximize ROI.
